     I graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1988 with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a reading emphasis in January of 2013. I am National Board Certified in early childhood education and certified to teach kindergarten through 6th grade, middle school grades 7th and 8th and reading K-12. I also have an endorsement for teaching students learning to speak English as a second language.



     This school year will be the beginning of my 19th year teaching.  I began my career at a private school in Desoto County. In 2004 I had an opportunity to accept a position at Memorial Elementary teaching kindergarten. I taught kindergarten for a total of 6 years before moving to a 2nd grade classroom. In 2009 I transferred to West Elementary. This school year, 2018-19, I will be teaching 4th grade. I am looking forward to meeting you and your child.


 I have lived in Port Charlotte, Florida, for twenty years. My family moved here from Connecticut. I have been teaching for nineteen years and have taught kindergarten, first, second, third and fourth grade.

 My husband, Dan, and I have been married thirty-one years. We met in college and married our senior year.  We have three children. Samantha, who graduated from Southeastern University, and she teaches math at Port Charlotte High School. Andrew graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He is married and works as a Youth Pastor in Texas. He and his wife Cindy have one son named Aaron.  Daniel graduated from Lee University in Tennessee. He is currently working on his masters in marriage and family counseling.  My husband has taught many different elementary grades and currently teaches pre-algebra and algebra at Desoto Middle School.
